Therapeutic issues

The health and therapeutic issues which AIDES supports are manifold.

 

 

Comprehensive care, access to treatment, the fight against side effects, research, shared work with health professionals on therapeutic information programmes.

 

By means of the TRT-5 group (HIV therapeutic treatment and research) AIDES advocates for effective, early, and fair anti-HIV treatment, especially for people suffering from treatment failure. AIDES is committed to fighting against the adverse effects of HIV treatment (to pinpoint the problems, find solutions, alert the authorities and researchers etc). We also see to it that people’s rights and ethics are protected in medical trials and anti-HIV strategies.

The health sector participates in setting up and facilitating training programmes and supports health actions inside AIDES, such as Universities of people in treatment (Universités des personnes en traitement or UTPs), Regional Universities of people in treatment (UNIR+) or therapeutic weekends according to the needs expressed by the people concerned. A National Health Group works on quality processes and the exchange of good practices in our health actions (hospital visits, health workshops etc). Supporting therapeutic education programmes is one of our major current issues.
