Helene Rossert at the Global fund

In March 2004 Hélène Rossert was elected Vice-Chairman of the Board of the Global fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

In applying for the position, she had 4 objectives:

·    To promote the Global fund and its successes amongst the key organisations, especially those able to finance the Global Fund ;

·    To position the Global fund as a key partner in the “3X5” initiative and ensure good coordination between the international institutions involved in the sector;

·    To develop the role of people living with these diseases in the Global fund’s governance and operations;

·    To work closely with the Board and its Chairman to mobilise further resources in order to ensure that the Global fund remains solvent, and consequently to provide a response to increasing demands coming from the worst-affected countries and communities.

At the end of her tenure, she carried out a self-evaluation of her policy statement, which you can download .
