A vaccine against hepatitis A
 
All you need to know about vaccination: vaccine recommendations, medical cover, and boosters.
 
Vaccines against the various forms of hepatitis usually have a good response.
 
For people exposed to hepatitis viruses, the benefits of being vaccinated outweigh the disadvantages of the side effects.
 
The vaccination
 
Two injections are usually required:

Medical cover
 
The vaccine against hepatitis A is not covered by French social security.
Two injections are required which cost from 38€ (Harvix) to 40€ (Avaxim) in France.
The combined vaccine (Twinrix), against hepatitis A and B is not covered by the French social security. Three injections are required which cost 51€ each.
 
Boosters
 
The vaccine against hepatitis A is effective for 10 to 20 years.
